DoT relaxes requirement of End-user list for LEAs, Defence forces and CAPFs

DoT exempts requirement of end-user list for LEAs, Defense forces, and CAPFs. Head of Office of respective security agencies to maintain an effective system of monitoring.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) yesterday issued a clarification to all CMTS/UASL/UL licensees having Access Service Authorization regarding relaxation of end-user details for issuing of mobile connections to Bulk connection category cases pertaining to LEAs, Defense forces, and CAPFs.

The requirement of End-user list for issuing of mobile connections has been exempted for Law Enforcement Agencies, Defence forces, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) as per the Telecom Department.

The Telecom Department stated that the Head of Office of above mentioned security agencies shall maintain a list of End-user log book for each individual (end user) for the period SIM card assigned to them.

The Head of Office ensure that a system of effective monitoring is in place as per the Telecom Department.

The existing instructions in general and particularly those issued vide letter No.
800-09/2010-VAS dated 09th August 2012 and all other instructions issued from time
to time shall remain the same for issuing of mobile connections
,” said DoT in its letter to all CMTS/UASL/UL licensees having Access Service authorization.
