DoT forms committee to review National Frequency Allocation Plan 2018
The committee has been formed with the approval of competent authority under the Chairmanship of Wireless Advisor to the Government of India.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) last week formed a committee to review/revise the National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) 2018. The committee has been formed with the approval of competent authority under the Chairmanship of Wireless Advisor to the Government of India.
The committee has three working groups under the chairmanship of V.J. Christopher, R.K. Saxena, and Sukhpal Singh. Working Group 1 is for frequency bands upto 1 GHz, Working Group 2 is for frequency bands 1 GHz to 6 GHz, and Working Group 3 is for frequency bands beyond 6 GHz.
The chairman of working groups can carry out consultations with stakeholders within four weeks. The committee will taken into consideration the recommendations of World Radiocommunication Conference 2019, national requirements, and latest developments in the radiocommunication technologies.
The committee will consider proposals received from all the stakeholders while reviewing the NFAP-2018.
DoT meanwhile last week confirmed that telecom service providers acquiring spectrum through Spectrum Auction 2021 will be subject to 3% SUC charged of the Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) excluding the revenue from wireline services.
