Airtel in November last year partnered with global factual entertainment content creator CuriosityStream to offer its content on platforms like Airtel Xstream box, stick, app and website. Now the company has expanded this partnership to provide content from CuriosityStream directly via satellite to its SD and HD set-top boxes also.
Airtel Digital TV on Friday has launched a new channel “Airtel Curiosity Stream” on channel number 419 which will air documentaries from CuriosityStream 24×7 without any advertisements. Only SD version of this channel is launched for now and it’s running for free to all customers.
CuriosityStream is a paid subscription-based over the top (OTT) platform whose basic plan starts at 2.99 USD or about 220 INR per month. Airtel is providing the complete content catalogue of CuriosityStream including exclusive originals for free to Airtel Thanks Gold, Platinum customers and all Airtel DTH users.
Airtel Digital TV is the first and only DTH operator in India who is bringing educational, non-fictional content from science and technology to history and nature to society and lifestyle by CuriosityStream to the television sets even without an internet connection.
