Zyxel Communications announced the launch of WAP 3205 Wireless N Access router with data transfer rates of 300MBps and a one touch WPS button for setting up a secure network. It also has detachable antennas and has built-in power over Ethernet (PoE) capability.

Based on 802.11n wireless networking technology—which is six times faster than the existing 802.11g networks—the device is also backwards compatible with 802.11b and 802.11g networks and has an Energy Star certification.

The router is Windows 7 ready and can be used to expand the network coverage to the entire home premise and enable all wireless-enabled devices to link to the existing network, and is thus suited for larger home environments.

The WAP 3205 is positioned as a solution for verticals such as education, healthcare, retail and hospitality as it provides flexibility for WLAN network deployments. Pinaki Chatterjee, Executive Director, Technical, ZyXEL Technologies India, said, “The ZyXEL WAP 3205 is the ideal solution for those looking to build fast, strong and secure networks that cover large areas. It ensures smooth HD video streaming and faster file transfers at large distances.”
The 3205 features a 5-in-1 design with an access point, universal repeater, WLAN bridge, WDS repeater and Wi-Fi client operating modes, and is priced at `6,771.
