Even 0.7 billion Indians have Smartphones doesn't mean everyone will watch sports and other contents with Freemium or Premium:D
OTT market is dominated by Freemium players. In India people feels they are entitled to free content as they have started to pay for wired internet very recently. Jio understood this really well. They saw how Hotstar had huge viewership during IPL when Jio was giving free access to Hotstar. Than Hotstar introduced subscription model. It didn't work out despite low subscription rates which was even being subsidised by telecom operators.

Most of the smart phone users, even our family members watching Youtube (more than other OTT) for free content. so,every Youth/sports lovers can watch cricket, if free stream available.

Freemium 2.O of Satellite TV, nobody cares if they continue like Satellite TV with ads. Again whole family have Smartphones with internet doesn't mean everyone Sports/Soap serials lovers.

So OTT market dominated by Freemium players, why they're ahead of launching subscription plans, are they're thinking their users going to Uninstall app after IPL.

People who watches content do. Just because you were upset about Disney+ Hotstar losing IPL rights. Doesn't mean we won't celebrate them losing same.

Because there is a market willing to lay for super content and convenient experience. Hence, the success of streaming platforms like Netflix.
Stick to the topic please. Cleanup needed lot of off topic discussions
@Rd22 This is the thread for HBO content coming to JioCinema after Hotstar not being able to afford the rights. We can discuss about streaming on this thread.

Even in the US, Disney doesn't put their big sports programming on ESPN+ because they know it's not feasible to get returns through subscription alone.

If you think you know more than Udhay Shankar or Anil Jayaraj then I've nothing to say.

So earlier they're part of Star/Disney that's why lot of problems for experts, now they're part of Viacom18/Jio Cinema As per Stories experts whatever doing right, others competitors don't know anything about Pay and Free service.

Both on streaming and TV. Star was dominating until Uday Shankar left. Why would expert aka PR be concerned now?

You deserve Oscar nomination great acting, check hotstar thread who posted more about their hotstar contents. I Never watched IPL Pay or Free on their streaming platform.

Don't compare with Netflix, they have paid subscription unlike free. Also they will Recover acquisition and maintenance cost. Most of WB/HBO contents available everywhere not only Jio or hotstar.

Thank You, maybe I will win it too. Heard they just handout awards to any act just for some lucrative tv and streaming deals. After Chinese market they are really interested about the Indian market nowadays.

Why shouldn't I? Both are streaming content. Apart from originals. Netflix movies from third parties are scattered too. Some are even available for free on youtube.
