Reliance Jio testing cable TV STB

After shaking up the telecom market, Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Jio is working on its cable TV venture that would not only offer video but also broadband services.

“Testing of cable TV set-top box (STB) is currently on. It is a hybrid box,” an industry source familiar with the development said.
The STB is of Korean make, but other vendors could come into play, the source added. The test run of the box has started almost two months back.

1 Minute silence for those who are waiting for Jio DTH..

I was saying this for months, that Jio has got no license for DTH and no contract with any satellites. All were gone mad when some third party websites and Youtube channels came with Jio DTH Plans and tariffs. Some people came with channel list itself.

It will take years for Jio Cable to become a game changer. To cover all parts of India,including villages atleast it will take a year or two or more.
