Have you tried personally ?
For me It works on other private operators but not in bsnl. BSNL does not deactivate data after sending sms. And that's why I lost my money as I thought data is deactivated after stop SMS but in reality it was not and play store download some updates.

I called cc, they told me to manually switch off mobile data on handset settings. Mailed to CEO but never got reply

I tried both gprs activation & deactivation by sms STOP to 1925. working, got response within 2 minutes

I also tried and also got same respose as you got but internet still working in my case on all 3 BSNL sim. I am from Bengal circle

ok... but for me, deactivated immediately...i checked...

so u change the apn setting in ur mobile to avoid data usage....

BSNL has 2 apn, bsnlstream and bsnllive. Which one is for what ?

If u get stable good speed in bsnl then Data 1099 plan which gives truly unlimited data(no speed throttling) and unlimted bsnl to bsnl calls and sms for 84 days at rs1099 is the best plan

i think that these apns for mobile tv. i said that u change the apn to anyone other than bsnl. so data usage will be stop. whenever u want data, change again to bsnl apn.
