Railway users have a reason to cheer as free Wi-Fi facility was inaugurated at Vadodara railway station on Saturday morning.

The Wi-Fi facility has been provided by the
Railtel Corporation Limited in association with
Google with a total bandwidth of 1.25 GBPS.

The facility which has been provided on all the seven platforms of Vadodara railway station can be accessed on any smartphone or laptop with no restriction on access.

To access the Wi-Fi network, the user has to switch on the Wi-Fi mode in the smartphone and select the railwire Wi-fi network. After the railwire homepage network automatically appears on the smartphone, the user has to enter his or her mobile number on this homepage. The user will get one time password (OTP) code in form of SMS in the message box which has to be entered in the home page of railwire. The user can later start internet browsing.

Railway officials said all websites can be accessed except those which are restricted by the Department of Telecommunication like p**nographic websites. “For the first one hour, the user gets 5 Mbps data speed and after one hour it is restricted to 1 Mbps,” said an official.
