I don’t want Hotstar to grab the digital rights with crappy quality.
Sonyliv is telecasting now in 54FPS with 1080p. Where as hotstar is telecasting in 23 fps.

Amazon will also provide best quality but I’m worried that they might introduce IPL special pass on addition to existing annual membership.
Right now Sonyliv/ amazon prime video is my preference for Digital rights
Amazon prime should get.

Amazon, Disney, Viacom18, Zee, Sony and one more unnamed company have bought the documentation for the media rights of the IPL. That unknown company will most probably be MX Player . This is very competitive though . I think Amazon / Viacom anyone out of the two has high chance of winning the rights .

I think Amazon will try to win for sure as it will increase their Prime Subscriptions which will help them in e-commerce too.

I hope whoever wins digital rights provides a good PQ with a real 1080p stream. I thought Amazon would do better but was not impressed with their PQ for the New Zealand series. We are living in 2022 and still Hotstar and other Indian provider streams 1080p at such a low bit rate that it does not look like 1080p.

I am excited about Apple. But I guess it is just rumoured now. Also, we are not sure how much they are interested in digital rights. If they win and stream matches on Apple TV+, I bet the PQ would be excellent and top-notch.

Picture quality is ok from amazon. But frame rate is not good enough..
1080p 60 is needed..
