BCCI should have never had this retaining system and Right-to-Match system in the first place but obviously CSK back then and MI all thru influence the system and they get their way. And now, theres no way Ambani will allow not having the retaining system.

Personally, I always feel all players should be in the auction without any retaining system. Otherwise, this is what is gonna happen year after year....the same teams win. And co-incidentally these 2 are the teams who use all the retaining and right-to match to the full

Then there won't be Team loyalty from Viewers. Many people support teams because of the players, Like RCB gets some of the support because just because of VK.

Take Mumbai:
Pollard and Malinga were in the auctions.
Bumrah, Hardik, Krunal were discovered by Mumbai and it would be absolutely unfair to Mumbai
So for MI only Rohit is the player they have truly retained.

Rohit Sharma | Winning skipper -- INR 20,00,00,000: Throughout the tournament we played some good cricket which was the reason we qualified at the top. We planned to split the tournament into two parts, every thing we did as a team we got the rewards for them. We have a squad of 25 players, everyone came in at some stage and did the job; the support-staff as well.
