7000 Cr is desperation bid and not practical to be replicated again, realestic pricing is somewhere between 5000-5500 Cr....

This is what Goenka said about 7000cr bid
In five years I expect it to be worth Rs 10,000 crore. The Rs 7000 crore valuation is to go up to Rs 10,000 crore.

So, if I'm investing Rs 2,500 crore and in five years it becomes worth Rs 10,000 crore, that's a pretty good investment.

A maximum of four players can be retained by the eight existing IPL teams while the two new franchises will be able to acquire three players from the rest of the player pool before the 2022 auction. While there is no confirmed date for the auction, the purse for the 2022 auction is likely to be INR 90 crore (USD 12 million approx), which is slightly more than the INR 85 crore that was available in the 2021 auction.

ESPNcricinfo has learned that there are two different combinations teams can apply while picking their four players to retain: three Indians and one overseas, or two Indians and two overseas. Also, unlike the previous big auction ahead of the 2018 season, there will be no right-to-match cards (RTM) at the auction.

BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal says the global interest for new teams in IPL has shown that it is the biggest 'Make in India' brand and the billions of dollars added to its ecosystem will also help the game the world over

"All of us Indians have to be proud of the fact that how IPL has grown over the years and how it has become a global sporting brand. For Manchester United owners and the likes of CVC, they eyeing for the IPL says it all. It is the biggest 'Make in India' brand the country has created and we all have to be proud of it," Dhumal told PTI.
