For eg Teams A,B,C,D,E in first group.
J,K,L,M,N in second group.
A plays BCDE and N twice. (Second group one team to be selected randomly) And JKLM once. 10+4 = 14 games for each.

I personally feel this will not work and BCCI would return to old system in next year

yes, this format is complicated. but, full round robin is not possible.
Each team can't play 18 league matches in a season.

BBL & PKL also have similar types of format in past.
