JSW Group keen to snap up an IPL team

Industrialist Sajjan Jindal’s JSW Group is re-looking to acquire an existing franchisee of the Indian Premier League (IPL) T-20 cricket tournament.

“We are looking at IPL as a big opportunity. There are a couple of franchises, which we know, are looking to exit. So, we are actively looking at that,” Sajjan Jindal’s son Parth Jindal told reporters at a group function in Jaigad recently.

Amid reports of ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin missing the 10th edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) due to sports hernia, the Pune-based franchise has called upon 17-year-old Tamil Nadu lad Washington Sundar and Jammu and Kashmir all-rounder Parvez Rasool as possible replacement. IPL 2017: Chris Gayle set to breach 10000-run mark in T20 cricket

Chris Gayle who comes out to open for Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League (IPL), is just 63 runs short of becoming the first batsman to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket and setting up a new record.

The West Indian power hitter has almost all the records in T20 — most centuries (18) half-centuries (60), sixes (732) and fours (759), from 286 matches — and is just 63 runs shy of becoming the first batsman to reach the 10,000-run milestone.
