Now it's reverse. Since last year mid, Jio started capping speeds on FTTH and Airtel followed suit. This is from the experience in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Ah, then I guess they will cap speed here as well.

I don't know. I don't trust Jio+Airtel anymore in FTTH department. Jio 5G/Airtel 4G was good but now it's slowest. Slower than Airtel 5G and Vi 4G(sometimes). But still it's good enough. I will always prefer local FTTH providers+ACT+Excitel+Alliance+Netplus+ion+Asianet over Jio+Airtel, mine provides 500Mbps at 2700-3000 for three months. Jio providers 150-200Mbps at that price range. Tata Fiber is good but prices are not good anymore. To serve 5G well, we need good affordable FTTH across country. I hope BSNL does that for us 100Mbps at 399 for us with 2TB FUP.

Here - in my tier 3 city, we don't have better plans with local fiber. Honestly, considering the OTT apps and STB, JioFiber is far better here. And also considering I don't see much better options even in Raipur (closest big city), I don't think any good local ISP will be coming here.

Also, since the local ISPs are mostly providing services either only in my city or at max a few more cities, they don't have much bandwidth, so they don't even provide 100 Mbps properly all the time, and don't give good speed in every site, since they are so peering dependent.

Browsing speed is one thing where they shine though. They have much worse ping than JioFiber here now, but still every site open much faster. I use my local ISP only for backup though.

So, sadly, no better option than JioFiber here. Airtel might have started their services too though, but I don't think I'll be trying to get it anytime soon.

Argh man! I know you have suffered legit with Railwire. But there has been talks about expansion of another player Excitel into many more cities, lets hope for the best.

Let see. We don't have any better plans yet here. The experience is a different story. I wish Excitel would expend to Chhattisgarh too, and then maybe I can expect them in my city.
