I am not using a separate box for my apps, especially when it comes to 4K content. I have directly installed the Hotstar app on my Android TV, by downloading it from the TV's Google Play Store.
I have 4K UHD TV and have prime video and Hotstar with few other apps... Subscribed only for Disney+hotstar that too VIP...I have Tatasky Binge+ too ..There I have premium subscription..Me too installed hotstar from play store in TV...Still I feel watching in TV have better video and audio rather than in Binge+ Box..

Exactly. I have had a similar experience with my Jio Fiber STB. They advertise 4K, when in reality my Jio STB's Android Settings has a maximum available resolution setting of only 1080p🤦‍♀️

What is your Jio STB model number?
I have 4K UHD TV and Jio STB model JHSD200 V2 and always have max display resolution of 4k2k@60.

That is news to me!

None of the other users I have come across in this forum mentioned that they had 2160p as the maximum resolution available in their Jio STB's Android Settings. It was 1080p60 for all of them.

That said, my STB could probably be one of the oldest Jio STB models. I procured it pretty early, as soon as my Jio Fiber free plan ended. My Jio STB's Model Number is JMC 20211.

Also a request:
Could you please post a screenshot of the resolution setting from your Jio STB? I could show it to Jio and probably ask them for the latest STB.

@Basil @Bapun Raz We are digressing here. If you see the necessity, please move this post and the previous one to the following Jio Fiber thread. We had extensively discussed about Jio STB's 4K availability in that thread.

I got a chance to check it again today. The 'Disney+ Hotstar' app has gotten updated, and the version on my Android TV is now 3.5.0.

4K content is playing fine now. 4K+HDR content is playing alright too. Here is a screenshot from my TV.

As I said in earlier post I have low speed net..That's the reason for not getting the full 4K resolution...Else it's working fine..

Nope.

Like I had explained earlier, Internet speed would not have been an issue in my case. It was something on Hotstar's end that was not enabled (or was blocked) on the Android TV version of their app, that had restricted the streaming to FULL HD instead of 4K. Apparently they have enabled (or unblocked) it now. I am just not sure if they did it before or after the app's version was updated from 3.48/3.49 to 3.50.

Some 4K TV users r getting 4K resolution...

Check for other pictures in that thread itself... AFAIK there should be more than 15/20Mbps speed to get full 4K resolutions...I don't have it...That's y I am not getting full resolution even after my Binge+ box supports 4K....
