Exactly. Hotstar is bad when it comes to the video quality of regional movies (I am talking about the Android TV app). Their English content is a bit better I guess. No signs of improvement in the near future!

Sorry I didn't mention I was talking about Android mobile. Is HDR is gonna be in mobile app?

I am not aware of that as I don't use the mobile app. But probably not, because of the fact that there aren't that many HDR Certified mobile phones in the market that offer HDR display in their screens. At least not right now. May be in the future, HDR display would be ubiquitous on mobile screens.

I am not aware as I do not watch Hindi content.

As far as I know, the English movie named TOGO is the only 4K video available in Hotstar. Even that video is not getting streamed in 4K resolution in my TV. It is getting streamed only in FULL HD. On the other hand, Netflix 4K videos are getting streamed in 4K just fine. I use a 100mbps broadband connection.

At the same time, my TV is picking up HDR for that video. Because that TOGO video in Hotstar is HDR too.

I believe all these discrepancies are because of the fact that 4K streaming is still in Testing mode in Hotstar. They haven't officially rolled it out yet.
