I think over a period of time the cost of Covaxin would come down.They need to ramp up production to offset the research costs.

Just to confirm, US FDA did not reject the covaxin vaccine altogether. They rejected their US partner's "EUA application". It was already decided by FDA not to approve anymore vaccines on EUA license. It is applicable to all vaccines across the globe. The reason for this is that US already have 3 vaccines approved under EUA and not in immediate need of another EUA vaccine.

Also FDA has recommended that partner company to apply for a BLA license instead. A BLA license is a full term and permanent license for a vaccine. This can be seen as a positive sign. And getting this BLA license will take a longer duration of time as the clinical trial period for a BLA license is more than the EUA license. So Bharat biotech and it's partner would have to submit more clinical trial documents and wait for a longer time now.

But, some people are spreading misleading information already. They started to create an image that India is using a vaccine which is rejected by FDA. 🙈

Btw for those who don't know,
EUA = Emergency Usage Authorisation
BLA = Biologics License Application
