Odisha will start vaccinations of 18-45 group on trial basis from 3rd May. There will be no vaccinations on May 1,2 because of Weekend shut down. May 3 onward a selected lot of people will get Covaxin. This will be exclusive to state Capital Bhubaneswar. All other places get Covishield which may cause delay in opening up.

We have so many pharma companies they can make vaccine quickly but GOI needs to do something about the licenses.

Not everyone has BSL 4 facility. Haffkine was given order to produce covishield a while back. It will take them until september to start producing it. Cant hurry up. Even in usa, when johnsons tried to hasten it up, mix up led to wastage of 15 million doses and they still have no idea how it happened.

True! India's Cipla did same when AIDS medicines price were high on peak around the globe we provide Africa a cheapest medicine.

GoI could buy formula on lease or something from Bharat Biotech at least and ask these companies to manufacture Vaccine. Then biggest challenge would be the raw material hope America didn't step back then.
