Prosper Utseya included in
Zimbabwe's probables list for ICC
Cricket World Cup 2015

Zimbabwe, known for creating major
upsets in the history of 50-over
World Cup, have announced their 30-
man probables list for the ICC Cricket
World Cup 2015. Prosper Utseya, the
off-spinner, who was cleared by
International Cricket Council (ICC),
after undergoing remedial work on
his action has been selected. Utseya
though, will only be allowed to bowl
slow-medium deliveries and not his
stock delivery, the off-break.

Sean Williams, one of Zimbabwe's
key batsmen, has been picked in the
probables list despite falling out with
the selectors before the tour of
Bangladesh.

With Zimbabwe plagued by a mass
exodus of players looking for greener
pastures elsewhere, they have also
been forced to select a slew of
youngsters. Solomon Mire, Neville
Madziva, Luke Jongwe, Peter Moor,
Richmond Mutumbami and Brian
Chari are some of the promising
cricketers, who made their ODI
debuts this year. The probables list
will be reduced to the final 15 by 7th
January.

Craig Kieswetter out of ICC Cricket
World Cup 2015 due to eye
problems

Craig Kieswetter, Somerset and
England's wicket-keeper-batsman,
won't take part in the ICC Cricket
World Cup 2015, as he hasn't yet
recovered completely from an eye
injury that he suffered, while batting
for Somerset against
Northamptonshire in a County game
in July 2013.

Kieswetter, known for batting with a
dash of bravado, broke his nose,
damaged an eye socket and
cheekbone after a delivery from
Northamptonshire's all-rounder,
David Willey, went right through the
visor of his helmet.

The wicket-keeper-batsman said in a
statement: "It is really disappointing
but my eye is not 100% and this of
course is critical in maintaining the
levels of performance that I expect of
myself.

"I need to make every effort to
resolve the matter and have the best
specialist help in that regard,"
Kieswetter was quoted as saying by
BBC Sport .

Kieswetter did play for Warriors in
the recently concluded Ram Slam T20
tournament. However, during the
tournament, he had a few problems
with his vision and after having
discussions with eye specialists,
Kieswetter decided to not take part in
top-level cricket for the time being.

Incidentally, Kieswetter, was selected
in England's probables list for World
Cup and was scheduled to play for
Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash
League.

Somerset County Club on their part,
issued a statement by saying,
"Kieswetter has struggled to regain
perfect vision which has affected his
performances in the recent SA
domestic T20 tournament.

"As a result of this he will be
withdrawing from the Big Bash T20
in Australia to undergo further
specialist rehabilitation. The long-
term prognosis is unknown at this
stage, but it is unlikely that he will
be fit for the 2015 season."

Kieswetter has aggregated 1,054 runs
and effected 65 dismissals in 46 ODIs
for England. He has also been the
first choice wicket-keeper for
Somerset since 2007.

Sam Billings replaces Kieswetter in England's ICC Cricket World Cup
probables

England Cricket Board (ECB), on
Friday, replaced Craig Kieswetter with
Kent wicket-keeper batsman, Sam
Billings, in their 30-man provisional
squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup
2015.

International Cricket Council (ICC)
acceded to ECB's replacement after
Kieswetter announced his
unavailability for the whole of 2015.

The Somerset keeper suffered
complications to his eye problem
sustained after being hit in the face
by a short delivery last year. Billings
joins Jos Butler and Jonny Bairstow as
the three keepers in the 30-man
squad.

With England finalizing their 30-man
squad, only Ireland and co-hosts
Australia's squads are yet to be
publicized. All teams will then have
to prune their squads to 15 in early
January, five weeks prior to the start
of the tournament.

Kieswetter tweeted his support for
the Kent gloveman after the official
announcement was made.
