Apple has started pushing iOS 10.0.2, a minor update to iOS 10 after users reported bugs affecting lightning earpods. The new update squashes all reported bugs for iPhone and iPad users.

The highlight of the update is the fix related to lightning earpods or headphones. Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users started reporting issues with lightning based headphones preventing audio controls from working. The update issued on Friday can be downloaded from Software update within Settings app or by connecting the compatible iOS device to iTunes on a Mac or PC.

According to Apple, iOS 10.0.2 fixes bugs and improves stability. The full list of changes spotlighted by the company are:

1. Addresses an issue that could prevent headphone audio controls from temporarily not working

2. Resolves an issue that caused Photos to quit for some users when turning on iCloud Photo Library

3. Fixes an issue that prevented enabling some app extensions

The early adopters of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus started complaining about the multifunction remote control not responding. Some users said the remote stopped functioning intermittently. Apple had earlier this week confirmed its working on a fix for the bug affecting lightning earpods.

Apple has also started public testing iOS 10.1 beta which brings the much talked about ‘Portrait’ mode to iPhone 7 Plus. With the new Portrait mode, iPhone 7 Plus users can shoot portrait pictures with shallow depth of field using the telephoto lens.

Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the latest smartphones to ditch the 3.5mm audio jack in favour of lightning connected earbuds. Apple has also tweaked its iOS 10 mobile operating system with support for machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the latest from Cupertino-based smartphone maker. The smartphones bring new prowess to processing and camera departments. Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus is the first smartphone to feature a dual rear camera setup with individual lenses for wide-angle and telephoto.
