@Sagar bro I just uninstalled it and deactivated Airtel Sim on my mobile.

Downloaded app again and when asked for registration I provided my jio number and verified OTP and it is working So looks like no need to have Airtel number.

Thanks. But not required for new registration, I am already part of this.

I remember just now, almost a year before I had registered to getting 500MB free data for this app

In New year

scenario 1

airtel integrated all their different apps into one then put subscription charge for live tv & movies

Scenario 2

Same but live tv and movies could be free for their data plan subscribers like jio or airtel data plan subscribers only can ae access for those apps like Jio

Scenario 3

Live tv and movies app charges differ for subscribers & non subscribers of data plan users

Already there is a talk & Rumers are there jio going to charge for their jio apps from new year so scenario 1 could be possible in future.

Yes as you said Jio apps will be made paid some time next year, I am thinking may be from 1st April 2018 when Jio prime membership ends.

And coming to Airtel they may try bundling Airtel tv with data plan by paying extra amount. And they need to add lot of things before they can think of making it paid.

Actually I think Airtel Tv is bit late, apps like Jio tv, Hotstar, Amazon prime have already reached many people. Airtel would need to go aggressive to compete against all these biggies.

And personally I will not use Jio TV or Airtel tv if they are made paid apps, instead I will use My Tata sky app which is complementary with my DTH connection.

Yes bro, Hotstar and Amazon prime video are different category but Airtel/Jio have apps competing against them, so was referring to them
