Bsnl is unreliable. We had network blackout for a week here in a village. Most of the elderly ppl are using bsnl as its cheap now but their quality makes us to think before porting....
Only 3G is another problem of BSNL. I posted in the relevant thread about BSNL 4G coming soon.

I don't know if this is circle-specific but BSNL's 36 rupees recharge is now for 90 days. Earlier it was for 180 days.

BTW my Voda conn is not forcing me to recharge again now. The expiry date is showing as 2021. Similarly, my docomo sim is showing an expiry of May after recharging 35 (28 days pack) earlier in March.

Looks like they have stopped forcing users to recharge a min amount every 28 days now.

Anyone else has noticed this change?

some times it happens due to glitches in software but will come to normal i.e. 28 days validity

Guys, is photo required for getting bsnl prepaid connection? I never gave photo earlier for any mobile connection, just photo id xerox. Now bsnl is asking for photo on form. Is this required? Other operators also now require photo?

Earlier they used to pull your photo and data from Adhaar Number (e-KYC), but now that is not permitted by Court. Hence they've reverted to offline kyc (physical id proof photocopy and a passport size photograph), this is what my jio wala told me last week.

Thanks for the quick reply. But even before aadhar was available, I never gave any photo to any one. Even for postpaid. This is strange. If "photo id" is required, it already has "photo". Why a new photo is required?

Photo was required here before aadhar, not sure how you get without it
