Chromecast with Google TV launching in India and 11 other countries: Report

The company is also expected to partner with some local services to pre-install their apps on the Chromecast.

Google has announced Chromecast with Google TV back in 2020 but its availability remained limited to a handful of countries only. Now, about 2 years after its initial debut, Google has started bringing Chromecast with Android TV to several new regions including India. 

According to a report from FlatpanelsHD, the Chromecast with Android TV will be available for purchase in India, Taiwan, New Zealand, and South Korea along with 8 European countries namely Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, and Austria.

Google will launch this product with special local features like support for regional languages and deeper integration with local apps and services. The company is also expected to partner with some local services to pre-install their apps on the Chromecast. 

It will be available in the aforementioned European countries starting from June 21 for 70 Euro (about Rs 5,800). However, for India, Taiwan, New Zealand, and South Korea the date for launch and final price are not known yet.

Chromecast with Google TV comes with 8GB of storage. It supports 4K Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content playback with Dolby Audio and Dolby Atmos. For connectivity, it has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi ac, and HDMI 2.1. A voice remote is also there with a dedicated button for Google Assistant, YouTube, and Netflix.
