State-owned telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has made some changes to its long term broadband plans. Customers will now get services free of cost for a few months depending on the duration of subscription instead of the discount in the overall Fixed Monthly Charge (FMC).
Duration of Service | Current Payable FMC on Monthly charge <499 | Current Payable FMC on Monthly charge >499 | Revised Payable FMC Across All Plans | Revised Duration of Service |
---|---|---|---|---|
12 Months | 11 Months | 10 Months | 12 Months | 13 Months |
24 Months | 21 Months | 19 Months | 24 Months | 27 Months |
36 Months | 30 Months | 28 Months | 36 Months | 40 Months |
12 Months Subscription
If any customer on a plan below Rs 499 subscribes for 1 year then he had to pay for 11 months only while those on a plan above Rs 499 were supposed to pay for 10 months. But, now customers from any plan subscribing for 1 year will have to pay the full charge of 12 months and will get the subscription for 13 months.
24 Months Subscription
Earlier, for 24 months subscription on a plan below Rs 499, BSNL was charging you for 21 months and for plans above Rs 499 you had to pay for 19 months. But, now any customer opting for 24 months subscription would be paying the full 24 months FMC and in return he will get free 3 months extra service, making total subscription period 27 months.
36 Months Subscription
Similarly, on 36 months subscription plan below Rs 499 you were being charged for 30 months while those on a plan above Rs 499 used to pay for 28 months. But, after the revision BSNL now will provide you 40 months of subscription and charge for 36 months.
