Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea declared as Pre-Qualified Bidders for Spectrum Auction 2021

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) today declared Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and Reliance Jio as pre-qualified bidders for the auction of spectrum in 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, and 2500 MHz bands. The trio submitted an application fee of Rs 1 lakh each for Spectrum Auction 2021.

Contrary to earlier media reports, the EMD amount submitted by Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio differs from what was tipped. Bharti Airtel has submitted an EMD amount of Rs 3,000 crores, Reliance Jio submitted Rs 10,000 crores, and Vodafone Idea submitted a paltry Rs 475 crores as EMD amount.
Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea can bid in any spectrum in any LSA subject to Eligibility Points, EMD amount, and spectrum cap. Bharti Airtel has been allocated 24924 EPs, Reliance Jio has been allocated 73007 EPs, and Vodafone Idea has been allocated 6153 EPs.
As reported earlier, the net worth of Bharti Airtel is Rs 71,303.1 crores, the net worth of Reliance Jio is Rs 1,79,617 crores, and the net worth of Vodafone Idea is Rs (-) 43,474.7 crores. The paid-up capital of Bharti Airtel is Rs 2,727.8 crores, the paid-up capital of Reliance Jio is Rs 1,54,125, and the paid-up capital of Vodafone Idea is Rs 28,735.4.
