After about a year of delay, Asus 8z was finally launched in India on Monday, February 28. The smartphone made its debut back in May 2021 and the company first teased its arrival in the country in August 2021, however, for unknown reasons its launch didn’t take place.

The Asus 8z features a 5.9-inch FHD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED display with HDR10, 1,080 x 2,400 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1100nits brightness, 20:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass Victus for protection.
Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with Adreno 660 GPU. It has 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage that is further expandable via HDD over NTFS format, there is no support for expandable storage via a microSD card.
The handset is equipped with a dual rear camera setup that consists of a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, OIS and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 secondary sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens that supports macro mode, dual PD autofocus.
A 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and dual PD autofocus is housed in a punch-hole placed at the top-left corner of the display. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
It packs a 4,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging, Quick Charge 4.0 and Power Delivery. It has Dirac tuned stereo speakers, dual Cirrus Logic CS35L45 amplifier and triple microphones with OZO Audio Zoom & ASUS Noise Reduction Technology.
It runs on ZenUI 8 custom skin based on Android 11. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS/ NavIC, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pricing and Availability
The Asus 8z will be available to purchase online through Flipkart from March 7 in a single 8GB + 128GB storage configuration with Horizon Silver and Obsidian Black colour options for Rs 42,999.
