Apple Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro with M1 chip now available to purchase in India

Earlier this month, Apple announced its first Apple Silicon M1 chip powered new Macs at its “One More Thing” event. Starting November 17, the new Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro with Apple M1 chip are now available to purchase in India.

Mac Mini specifications

The new Mac Mini is powered by an octa-core Apple M1 chip paired with an 8-core GPU, 8GB RAM (Configurable to 16GB), 256/512GB of SSD storage (Configurable up to 2TB). The device supports up to 6K resolution at 60Hz via Thunderbolt port and one display with up to 4K resolution at 60Hz via HDMI 2.0 port. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, two Thunderbolts / USB 4 ports, two USB Type-A ports, one HDMI 2.0 port, one ethernet port, and one 3.5mm headphone jack.

MacBook Air specifications

The MacBook Air features a 13.3-inch 2560 x 1600 resolution IPS display with Wide color (P3) gamut, True Tone technology, and brightness up to 400 nits. The new MacBook Air is powered by an octa-core Apple M1 chip paired with an 8-core GPU, 8GB RAM (Configurable to 16GB), 256/512GB of SSD storage (Configurable up to 2TB). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, two Thunderbolt / USB 4 with support for charging and display port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The device includes a Touch ID sensor, ambient light sensor, and a 720p FaceTime HD camera. MacBook Air comes with a 49.9 watt-hour lithium‑polymer battery with a 30W USB-C Power Adapter. Apple claims that it can deliver up to 15 hours of wireless web browsing or up to 18 hours of Apple TV app movie playback.

MacBook Pro specifications

The MacBook Pro features a 13.3-inch 2560 x 1600 resolution IPS display with Wide color (P3) gamut, True Tone technology, and brightness up to 500 nits. The new MacBook Air is powered by an octa-core Apple M1 chip paired with an 8-core GPU, 8GB RAM (Configurable to 16GB), 256/512GB of SSD storage (Configurable up to 2TB). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, two Thunderbolt / USB 4 with support for charging and display port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

MacBook Pro includes a Touch ID sensor, ambient light sensor, touch bar, and 720p FaceTime HD camera for making video calls. The laptop comes with a 58.2 watt-hour lithium‑polymer battery with a 61W USB-C Power Adapter. On a full charge, it is said to deliver up to 17 hours of wireless web browsing or up to 20 hours of Apple TV app movie playback.

Pricing and availability

he Mac Mini with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD model is priced at Rs. 64,900, while the 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD model costs Rs. 84,900. The MacBook Air costs Rs. 92,900 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD variant, while the 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD model is priced at Rs. 1,17,900. The MacBook Pro with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD is priced at Rs. 1,22,900, while the 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD model costs Rs. 1,42,900.

The MacBook Air comes in Gold, Silver, and Space Grey color options, while the MacBook Pro comes in Silver and Space Grey color options. The Mac Mini comes in a single Silver color option. While purchasing from the Apple India e-store, customers can customize RAM and storage configuration as per their requirements. Students can also get additional discounts on purchasing via the Apple online store.
