Apple launched its latest iPhone, the iPhone 15 series, at its ‘Wonderlust’ event on September 12, 2023. Apple has unveiled four iPhone 15 series models, including iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus feature an Apple A16 Bionic chipset and dual-rear cameras, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature an Apple A17 Bionic SoC and a triple-rear camera setup. Further, the iPhone 15 series comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max replace the mute button with a new action button to allow users to assign different actions.

The Apple iPhone 15 features a 6.1-inch (2556 × 1179 pixels) Super Retina XDR OLED display with up to 2000 nits peak outdoor brightness, HDR, True Tone, and Ceramic Shield protection. In contrast, the iPhone 15 Plus features a 6.7-inch (2796 × 1290 pixels) Super Retina XDR OLED display with up to 2000 nits peak outdoor brightness, HDR, True Tone, and Ceramic Shield protection. Both models are powered by a hexa-core (2 performance and 4 efficiency cores) Apple A16 Bionic (4nm) chipset paired with a 5‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine, and up to 512GB of onboard storage.

In terms of optics, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus sport a dual rear camera setup of a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.78 aperture, OIS, True Tone flash, 2x Telephoto, and supports HDR video recording with Dolby Vision at 4K 60fps, Slo‑mo recording at 1080p 240fps, and Cinematic mode up to 4K HDR at 30fps. It also has a 12-megapixel 120-degree Ultra-Wide secondary rear camera with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, both variants have a 12-megapixel TrueDepth front sensor with f/1.9 aperture, Retina Flash, and HDR video recording with Dolby Vision at up to 4K 60fps and Slo‑mo at 1080p 120fps.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Bluetooth 5.3, 5G (sub‑6 GHz) with 4×4 MIMO, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, magnetometer, barometer, ambient light, and Face ID. The iPhone 15 measures 147.6mm × 71.6mm × 7.80mm and weighs 171 grams, while the iPhone 15 Plus measures 160.9mm × 77.8mm × 7.80mm and weighs 201 grams.
