Bharti Airtel has discontinued two of its international roaming (IR) recharge plans bringing down the number of international roaming prepaid plans in its portfolio. Rs 296 and Rs 446 international roaming recharge plans which were earlier part of its portfolio have been discarded by the telecom service provider. Airtel has also revised its prepaid plans to offer Rs 150 cashback on FASTag. It was earlier offering Rs 100 cashback on FASTag.
Airtel Prepaid Plans now offering Rs 150 cashback on FASTag
Airtel has revised its prepaid plans once again to offer more cash back on FASTag. Airtel before the tariff hike last year used to offer Rs 150 cashback on FASTag. However, after the tariff hike revised plans only offered Rs 100 cashback on FASTag. Newly launched Rs 279 and Rs 379 prepaid plans also offered Rs 100 cashback on FASTag. Airtel has however now again revised its plans to offer Rs 150 cashback on FASTag. The change has taken place in the last 5 days. Rs 219 prepaid plan which earlier offered Rs 100 cashback on FASTag no longer offers the benefit. All Airtel prepaid plans starting at Rs 249 offer Rs 150 cashback on FASTag.
Airtel discontinues Rs 296 and Rs 446 International Roaming Recharge Plans
The Rs 296 international roaming plan used to offer 30 days of validity for Airtel customers. It provided 40 minutes of calls to India, local and incoming on international roaming. The plan was launched around a year back by the telecom service provider as part of its ‘Foreign Pass’ scheme.
The Rs 446 international roaming plan used to 90 days of validity for Airtel customers. It provided 75 minutes of calls to India, local and incoming on international roaming. It was also launched a year back along with the launch of Rs 296 international roaming pack. The plan used to offer only voice calls and did not come with any other benefits.
The withdrawal of both the plans comes within a fortnight of the introduction of four new international roaming plans by Airtel. Airtel earlier this month launched four new international roaming plans at Rs 648, Rs 755, Rs 799 and Rs 1,199. The new plans cover up to 80 countries for its prepaid customers.
Airtel’s international roaming (IR) prepaid plans now start at Rs 496 and end at Rs 6999. The cheapest international roaming plan offers a validity of 1 day while the costliest plan offers 30-day validity. With the removal of 2 plans, Airtel’s international roaming prepaid plans portfolio contains 15 plans to choose from for Airtel users.
30 days validity is too short for long term visitors. 90 days pack was just nice earlier.
