Bharti Airtel on Monday has announced the much-anticipated launch of its first-ever Credit Card in partnership with Axis Bank. The Airtel Axis Bank Credit Card will be exclusive to Airtel customers and will offer up to 25% cashback every month on recharges, payments of your Airtel services.
Registration and Activation Reward
Eligible Airtel customers can register for this card through the Airtel Thanks app. Upon registration, Axis Bank will perform verifications and either approve or reject the application. If approved, you will be issued with your card details and a Rs 500 Amazon e-Voucher will be provided within 30 days.
Cashback on Airtel Services
Payments for Airtel services have the highest cashback rate of 25% but do note that it is capped to Rs 300 per month. Users won’t get more than Rs 300 cashback for this category in a month. This category includes Airtel Mobile, Airtel Broadband, WiFi and Airtel DTH bill payments.
Cashback on other bill payments
Airtel Axis Bank Credit Cardholders paying for their Electricity, Gas, Water bills via the Airtel Thanks app can get 10% cashback, however, this is also restricted to up to 300 in a month. Cashback of 25% and 10% categories will be calculated based on the Merchant IDs (MIDs) shared by the respective merchants.
Cashback on Preferred Merchants
The cardholders will get 10% cashback capped to Rs 500 per month on making payments at ‘preferred merchants’ websites and mobile apps. The list of such merchants currently includes Bigbasket, Swiggy and Zomato. We expect it to be expanded for other major brands as well in future.
Unlimited Cashback of every other transaction
For all other transactions that are not included in any of the above-mentioned categories, users will get a flat 1% cashback without any maximum limit. Cashback earned for the purchases during the current billing cycle will be credited in the next billing cycle 3 days before the statement generation date.
Fuel Spends, EMI transactions, Purchases converted to EMI post facto, Wallet loading transactions, Purchase of Jewelry items, Cash advances, Payment of outstanding balances, Rental payment, Payment of card fees and other card charges are transactions that are not eligible for any cashback.
Cashback earned will be computed based on spending during the statement period minus returns or refunds during the same period. In case of refunds after the statement generation date, cashback toward such transactions will be automatically debited immediately.
