WhatsApp is according to reports testing the integration of Facebook Messenger Rooms on the beta version of Whatsapp for Android. WABetaInfo spotted the testing on 2.20.139 beta version of Whatsapp.
The beta update shows that Facebook is working on integration. However, the feature is yet not functional. There is a shortcut in testing that can be used to create a Room.
Recently, Facebook had announced that it was working on unifying its app and integrating features. The company had said that the group video calls could start soon and be shared on Instagram and WhatsApp.
WABetaInfo reported that when one creates a room, WhatsApp shows a message that it is creating a Room in Messenger with the user being able to send a link to group video chat anyone, even if they do not have Messenger or WhatsApp. The same facility will also be available to the ‘Calls’ tab inside WhatsApp.
The feature is currently being tested internally and WhatsApp could release it soon to beta users, followed by a public release once it is stable and bug-free.
