Jio Fiber further strengthened its OTT offerings on its set-top box by onboarding Netflix. Netflix was the only streaming giant which was not available on the platform while its counterparts Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video were made available in the past. The streamer is one of the 12 OTT services which is offered as a complimentary subscription for Jio Fiber users.
Earlier this month Jio Fiber allowed all new and existing customers to redeem Netflix benefits via MyJio application. Netflix is available for Jio Fiber customers who are on new Diamond plan or above. Jio is also allowing customers to upgrade their Netflix subscription to a higher plan by paying the balance amount.
Netflix went live on Jio Fiber set-top box earlier today. The addition will be complete the Jio’s proposed OTT aggregator platform Jio TV+ which will aggregate content from 12 OTT platforms including Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, Sony Liv among others.
