Telecom service provider Vodafone Idea has continued to lead in terms of voice quality among telecom service providers in December with TRAI’s MyCall data putting Idea at the top in terms of voice quality followed by Vodafone. Reliance Jio and BSNL were joint place holders behind Vodafone Idea in the terms of voice quality as per TRAI.
TRAI MyCall app recorded little over 17,000 customer feedbacks in December 2020 with 16,034 or 88.84 percent respondents rating the call quality experience as satisfactory, 881 or 4.77 percent respondents rating the call quality experience as call dropped, and 1,549 or 8.39 percent respondents rating the quality experience as poor voice quality.
Idea customers accounted for 48.9 percent of the total sample size, Reliance Jio customers accounted for 21.4 percent, Vodafone customers accounted for 14.9 percent, Airtel customers accounted for 11.3 percent, and BSNL customers accounted for 3.5 percent of the total sample size.
Idea lead the voice quality with 4.9 out of 5, Vodafone was rated at 4.3 out of 5, BSNL and Reliance Jio at 3.9 out of 5 behind Vodafone Idea, and Bharti Airtel at the end of the pecking order with 3.1 out of 5.
The call quality rating across telecom service providers on a scale of 5 was pegged at 4.4 out of 5 for indoor, 4.2 out of 5 for outdoor, and 4.6 out of 5 for travelling.
