Vi today announced the enhancement of the voice calling experience for its customers in Maharashtra & Goa with the doubling of VoLTE capacity in the two states.
The company’s initiative will enable more Vi customers to make calls using VoLTE and enjoy HD quality crystal clear voice with superfast call connect. VoLTE calling facility is available to Vi customers across all the towns and villages in Maharastra & Goa.
“I would like to extend an invitation to 4G mobile phone users in Maharashtra & Goa to enjoy an improved, superior calling experience on Vi VoLTE network. We have undertaken multiple initiatives over the past year to widen our 4G network spread in the circle as well as strengthen coverage across urban and rural locations. We have now doubled our VoLTE capacity in the two states, enabling more Vi customers to enjoy seamless, long conversations with their loved ones. Vi customers need a VoLTE enabled device to experience instant call connect and ultra HD voice clarity of Vi VoLTE”.
Rohit Tandon, Cluster Business Head, Maharashtra & Goa- Vodafone Idea
The company over the past year has also been ramping up 4G capacity in Maharashtra & Goa with additional deployment of 900 MHz and 2100 MHz spectrum. The telco claims to have the highest deployment of 900 MHz spectrum in the telecom circle ensuring better voice clarity and indoor experience for Vi customers.
Vi is finally shutting down 3G (5Mhz on B1) in Delhi NCR. They have already started to refarm the spectrum to 4G in Noida. Vi is replacing old Huawei’s equipment used for 3G with Nokia’s gears.
After Noida, work will start in New Delhi, then Gurgaon, then Faridabad and finally the rural areas of NCR. However, work is progressing slowly (no prize for guessing why).
