To deliver enhanced network experience to its customers, telecom service provider Vodafone Idea (Vi) has deployed an additional 1800 MHz spectrum band on all 11000 sites in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana (AP&T). According to the company, the 1800 MHz spectrum band will enable customers to avail of faster downloads, uploads, streaming, and access entertainment, e-commerce and other services on the network.
Vi said that it added more than 660 new sites last year and also added capacity to the existing 6201 sites. Further, the company augmented spectrum in all 11000 sites in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. Vi believes that these network enhancements will enable its users to stay confidently connected at all times.
The telco has rolled out a creative campaign to communicate the benefits of the stronger Vi GIGAnet to customers in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. The campaign invites customers in the two states to experience 2x faster speeds on Vi GIGAnet.

We have undertaken multiple initiatives over the past year to widen our coverage as well as strengthen network capacity across the length and breadth of the two states,” said Siddhartha Jain, Cluster Business Head, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Karnataka, Vodafone Idea.

In Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, the deployment of additional 1800 MHz on 11000 sites and an additional 2500 MHz on more than 3000 sites in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana ensures enhanced speeds for Vi customers.
ValuConnex, a third-party network audit certification and customer experience measurement validator, has certified that the Vi network provided 2x faster speeds after the deployment of the additional spectrum bands across the site. The audit was conducted in September 2022 as against October 2021.
