Vodafone Idea (Vi)

Telecom service provider Vodafone Idea (Vi) has started offering its 5G services in two cities in India. The telco has revealed on its website that its 5G network is live at select locations in Pune and Delhi. In August 2023, Vi tested its 5G services in Pune over the 26GHz and 3.3GHz bands. Further, Vi 5G services are also live at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.

“Get ready to experience the potential of the Vi 5G network in India with 5G live at select places in Pune and Delhi. Seamless connectivity with Vi 5G ready SIM,” the website states. However, the company has not yet made any official announcement regarding the launch of 5G services in the country.

To recall, Vi bought 50MHz in the 3300MHz frequency band for 17 circles, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West), and West Bengal.

The 3300MHz frequency band is also known as the n78 band and is a popular 5G band for sub-6GHz services. In addition, Vi acquired a 26GHz frequency band, which is a high-band or mmWave band for providing ultra-fast 5G services.

Vi 4G SIM cards are 5G ready, and users will need a compatible 5G smartphone to avail of the Vi 5G services. Vi users can also visit the nearest Vi stores to get their 5G-ready Vi SIM cards. Reliance Jio and Airtel are already offering 5G services across major cities in India.

They should focus on starting volte and vowifi services in all states first, that will help them to retain customer.

but to retain, they need investment in network, which means extra money.

but last 6month vi cant able to grab single sinvestor, nor promoter.

so vi think they can make themself 5G ready so new investor can put his/her hard money to make vi floating.

its like put less than crores to show potential to get capital worth 100 cores.
