Bankrupt teleco Reliance Communications currently holds spectrum holdings in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 2100 MHz frequency bands across multiple circles. The spectrum holdings in the 800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands are among the most prized ones for Reliance Communications. The transfer of spectrum assets remains under clouds post NCLAT order in April 2021 barring spectrum to be utilized without payment of pending dues by wiping it off by invoking CIRP under Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.

Reliance Communications 800 MHz Band Spectrum Holdings
In the 800 MHz band, Reliance Communications has around 58.75 MHz spectrum across multiple circles. The company however has spectrum sharing pact with Reliance Jio in many of the circles through which the spectrum is being utilised. The entire chunk of spectrum is liberalised and valid till 2033/2035 in different spectrum holdings depending upon the year of acquisition.

Reliance Communications 900 MHz Band Spectrum Holdings
In the 900 MHz band, RCOM just has set chunks of 5 MHz each in Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh circle. The spectrum holdings are liberalized ones with expiry in 2035. The 10 MHz spectrum holding in 900 MHz band as per 2021 Auction discovered price would cost Rs 1,160 crore while the value of the remaining spectrum is somewhere around Rs 812 crore based on the 2021 Auction discovered price.
Reliance Communications 1800 MHz Band Spectrum Holdings
In the 1800 MHz band, Reliance Communications has spectrum holdings worth 17.4 MHz across 7 circles in chunks of 0.6 MHz and 5 MHz. The liberalised spectrum holdings don’t expire until as late as 2036 while some expire in 2034-2035. The spectrum holdings as per 2021 Auction discovered price would cost Rs 794 crore while the value of the remaining spectrum is somewhere around Rs 543.22 crore based on the 2021 Auction discovered price.
Reliance Communications 2100 MHz Spectrum Holdings
The spectrum holdings in this frequency band are the most prized ones for RCOM. The company has 65 MHz spectrum across multiple circles. The liberalised spectrum doesn’t expire until 2030. The spectrum holdings as per 2021 Auction discovered price would cost Rs 9,145 crore while the value of the remaining spectrum is somewhere around Rs 4,115.25 crore as per the 2021 Auction discovered price.
