Telegram has officially launched its Premium Service after the initial announcement a few months back. The company will keep all existing features of the app free and double the benefits for Premium subscribers along with new exclusive features and an ad-free experience. Â
Larger files and faster downloads
All users get unlimited free cloud storage and can send or upload files up to 2GB in size at a restricted download speed. Premium subscribers will have a 4GB file upload size limit with no download speed restriction. Do note that all Telegram users can view and download bigger files.
Double limits
Premium subscribers will get double the limits of standard users. They can join up to 1,000 channels, larger groups instead of 500. Pinned chats limit will be increased from 5 to 10. Paid subscribers can also save up to 10 stickers, create up to 20 chat folders and four accounts to Telegram instead of three.
Premium users get the ability for longer bios with a link and more characters on media captions. They can reserve up to 20 public t.me links and the favourite GIF limit is increased from 200 to 400.
Voice to Text transcription
Telegram Premium subscribers can convert voice notes and messages to text transcripts so that they can read them instead of listening. To improve these transcripts, users can rate them for their accuracy.
Exclusive reactions and stickers
Paid users will get new exclusive stickers with full-screen animation and effects that can be viewed by regular users too. The Premium Stickers will be updated each month by Telegram artists. Premium subscribers will also have more than 10 emojis to react to messages.
Premium badge, animated profile picture and premium app icons
Premium users will have a special premium badge that appears next to their name in the chat list, chat headers, and member lists in groups. They can also have animated profile videos and premium app icons to personality how the Telegram app appears on their home screen.
Pricing
The Telegram Premium subscription is priced at $4.99 per month, however, this cost will vary from country to country. In India, it will cost Rs 469 for iPhone, while the price for Android users is not confirmed yet. The details about supported payment methods are also not available.
