Microsoft has unveiled the Surface Laptop Studio, Surface Go 3, and Surface Pro 8 laptop at the 2021 Microsoft Surface event. The Surface Laptop Studio and Surface Pro 8 runs on Windows 11 Home OS out of the box, while the Surface Go 3 runs Windows 11 Home in S mode. The laptops include one month free trial of Microsoft 365 apps and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. All devices feature a 10-point multi-touch display, Windows Hello face sign-in, and Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) support.
Surface Laptop Studio specifications
Surface Laptop Studio features a 14.4-inch 2400 x 1600 pixels display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, 10-point multi-touch support, Dolby Vision, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Intel 11th Gen Core H35 i5-11300H/ H35 i7-11370H processor paired with 16GB/ 32GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 2TB of solid-state drive (SSD). The Core i5 models come with Intel Iris Xe graphics, while the i7 variants come with Nvidia GeForce RTX3050 Ti laptop GPU with 4GB GDDR6 GPU memory.
The laptop comes with a 1080p front-facing camera that supports Windows Hello face sign-in, dual far-field studio microphones, and Quad Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Atmos technology. It also includes a hardware TPM 2.0 chip for enhanced security and BitLocker support. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 6: 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, Xbox Wireless built-in, two USB 4.0 ports with Thunderbolt 4 technology, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, and gyroscope.
Surface Laptop Studio comes with a 56.3Wh battery that claims to deliver up to 19 hours of typical device usage on Core i5 variants and up to 18 hours of device usage on Core i7 models. Lastly, the device measures 323.28 mm x 228.32 mm x 18.94 mm.
Surface Pro 8 specifications
Surface Pro 8 features a 13-inch 2880 x 1920 pixels display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, 10-point multi-touch support, Dolby Vision, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The laptop is powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7/ i7-1185G7 processor paired with 8GB/ 16GB/ 32GB LPDDR4x RAM, Intel Iris Xe graphics, and up to 1TB of storage. Surface Pro 8 comes with a 5.0-megapixel front-facing camera that supports 1080p video recording and a 10-megapixel rear-facing camera that supports 1080p HD and 4k video recording. It is equipped with dual far-field studio mics and 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 6: 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, two USB Type-C ports with USB 4.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Surface Connect port, and a Surface Type Cover port. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, and gyroscope. The device is compatible with the Surface Pro Signature keyboard, Surface Pro X keyboard and supports Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) and tactile signals with Surface Slim Pen 2.

Surface Go 3 features a 10.5-inch 1920 x 1280 pixels display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 10-point multi-touch support. The device is powered by Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y/ 10th Gen Intel Core i3-10100Y processor paired with 4GB/ 8GB LPDDR3 RAM, Intel UHD 615 graphics, and 64GB eMMC/ 128GB solid-state drive. The laptop comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera that supports Windows Hello face sign-in and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. It is equipped with dual far-field studio mics and 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 6: 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, one USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a MicroSDXC card reader, a Surface Connect port, and a Surface Type Cover port. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, and gyroscope. Surface Go 3 comes with a 26.8Wh battery that can deliver up to 11 hours of typical device usage. Lastly, the device measures 245 mm x 175 mm x 8.3 mm.
