Meghbela Broadband has announced the launch of host of services including OTT platform and Android Box making it the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) in East India to deliver voice, video, data, and wireless services through FTTH.
Meghbela is launching a voice-enabled Android Box which will provide access to premium OTT platforms and more than 150 Live TV channels diving into the world of superfast broadband with upto 250 Mbps speed and experience ad-free entertainment and music with Amazon Prime, ZEE5, Hungama, Hubhopper, ShemarooMe, Gaana along with Bengali OTT players like Hoichoi, Addatimes, and Bongo TV. The Android Box can be connected to any TV through an HDMI port or AV input which comes with Android 9 interface.
Meghbela will offer three long duration tariff plans in Kolkata and Rest of Bengal – Quarterly (Rs 5250), Half Yearly (Rs 9000), and Yearly (Rs 15,000). Meghbela will also offer four monthly plans – Rs 1000, Rs 1249, Rs 1499, and Rs 1549 along with introduction of Zero Cost EMI facility in partnership with HDFC Bank making it convenient for customers to pay in interest free EMIs of 3/6/9/12 months. Meghbela has also partnered with Oriental Insurance to offer their customers Corona Kavach health insurance worth Rs 1 lakh to protect them against COVID-19.
Meghbela’s Android Box is powered by amlogic S805X chipset, ARM Quad 64-bit Cortex A-53 CPU, Penta Core Mali-450 GPU, eMMC 8GB Flash, DDR3 2GB DRAM, RJ45, built-in Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth 4.0. The Android Box comes with Remote control, a Power adaptor, HDMI cable, and a user manual.
Meghbela has also come up with Meghbela App for those who don’t want the Android Box and instead stream content on their smartphones from Play Store or App Store. Meghbela remains in discussion with Disney+ Hotstar, Sony LIV, and Discovery+ to expand their entertainment bouquet.

Meghbela currently boasts of a broadband customer base of 1.5 lakh in West Bengal and looking to double the subscriber base and acquire nearly 2 lakh new subscribers by the end of 2021 with the Meghbela Android Box set to be launched in Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand shortly with the company also planning to launch IPTV platform nationally. The company boasts of 10,000 kms of over-head fiber network and 2000 kms of underground optic-fiber cable.
