JioPhone Next Exchange

Reliance Jio in partnership with Google had launched the JioPhone Next smartphone in October last year with a price tag of Rs 6,499. Now the company has started an Exchange offer under which buyers can get a Rs 2,000 discount.

According to the offer banner on Jio’s website, customers exchanging their existing phone to upgrade to the JioPhone Next will get the new smartphone at a discounted price of Rs 4,499. However, for this exchange, Jio will accept only 4G handsets that are in working condition.

For exchanging any device under this offer, buyers have to buy the JioPhone Next through Jio’s website or official stores. It is also available with financing options since the launch and customers can get the device for Rs 1,999 + Rs 501 processing fee. The rest amount is to be paid in instalments.

Buyers getting the device with financing have 4 EMI plans to choose from- Always-on, Large, XL and XXL. Always on plan costs Rs 300 for 24 months or Rs 350 for 18 months and offers 5GB data, and 100 minutes of Talktime per month.

Large Plan will charge Rs 450 for 24 months or Rs 500 or 18 months and gives 1.5GB of data per day along with unlimited voice calling. XL Plan provides unlimited calling and 2GB daily data and its EMI is Rs 500 for 24 months or Rs 550 for 18 months. Lastly, the XXL Plan costs Rs 550 for 24 months or Rs 600 for 18 months and comes with unlimited calling, and 2.5 GB of data per day.

This smartphone has received criticism for its pricing considering the specifications it offers. In addition to that, there are other restrictions too such as only the 1st sim slot supports data and VoLTE which is carrier-locked to work just with the Jio Network.
