Google has officially launched the redesigned Chrome Web Store, which features a modern and user-friendly interface based on the Material You design language. The new design aims to make it easier for users to discover and install extensions and themes for their Chrome browser.
“The new Chrome Web Store is officially open for business. Previously available in a limited preview, anyone can now access the redesigned store to easily find Chrome extensions and themes. Inspired by our Material You design language, the new store has fresh color palettes, updated card styles, and improved icon legibility that all better complement Chrome’s overall look,” said Hafsah Lakhany Ismail, Product Manager of Chrome Web Store in a blog post.
The redesigned Chrome Web Store features new extension categories, such as AI-powered and shopping extensions. Further, users will also see extensions that are more tailored to their interests based on what they have previously downloaded, as well as their browsing behavior and preferences. There is also a new Editors’ Spotlight feature that highlights the best extensions handpicked by the Chrome team. These features aim to let users discover extensions that might be helpful to them.
According to Google, the new Chrome Web Store is now easier to navigate, and the search bar is now at the top right for faster access. In addition, users can filter by all items or featured extensions and themes to find what they need. The redesigned Chrome Web Store is now available for all users.
