Google launched the new Chromecast with Google TV and Nest Audio at an event last night along with Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G. The streaming dongle unlike its predecessors comes with its own interface and a dedicated remote. The company claims the Nest Audio is 75 percent louder and has a 50 percent stronger bass response compared to the Google Home it is replacing.
The new Google TV experience aggregates content from apps and subscriptions and organizes them as per the user’s preference. Users can add content to Google TV watchlist from Google search on phones and other devices as well. Debuting with the new Chromecast, Google TV will be rolling out to other Android TV devices in 2021. On mobiles and tablets, Google Play TV & Movies will be updated as Google TV in the US.

Chromecast with Google TV is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core processer paired 2GB RAM and 8GB Internal storage. The device runs on Google TV, a custom skin based on Google’s Android TV. The remote comes with dedicated buttons for YouTube, Netflix, and Google Assistant.
Chromecast with Google TV supports streaming videos at up to 4K UHD resolution at 60fps supporting HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision content. It can process Dolby audio formats like Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, Dolby Atmos pass-through. Connectivity options included are dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and unspecified Bluetooth version.
Nest Audio Specifications
Nest Audio is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core processer paired with 75 mm woofer, 19 mm tweeter, and 3 far-field microphones. The speaker comes with a built-in Google Assistant and Voice Match technology. Connectivity options on the device included are dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0.
Price and Availability
Nest Audio will be launching in India on October 5 and priced at $99.99 (Rs. 7400 approx.). Even though the device is available in Chalk, Charcoal, Sage, Sand, and Sky color options, In India only Chalk and Charcoal options will be available.
Chromecast with Google TV is priced at $49.99 (Rs. 3700 approx.). No word on the Indian launch yet. The device will be available in Snow, Sunrise, and Sky color variants.Â
