DoT seeks comments on revision of NFAP for frequency bands upto 1 GHz

Working Group 1 is for frequency bands upto 1 GHz, Working Group 2 is for frequency bands 1 GHz to 6 GHz, and Working Group 3 is for frequency bands beyond 6 GHz.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) yesterday invited comments from stakeholders for Working Group (1) constituted by the department to revise the National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) 2018 under the chairmanship of the Wireless Advisor to the Government of India.

The national stakeholder’s inputs and comments have been sought to be considered for incorporation in the revised NFAP by not later than 10th March 2021 for considering by the Working Group.

The Working Group-1 constituted is tasked with the review and revision of th NFAP 2018 for the frequency bands upto 1 GHz taking into the considerations of World Radio communication Conference 2019 as available in the Radio Regulations 2020, national requirements and the latest developments in the Radiocommunications technologies.

The Working Group had its first meeting for revision of NFAP 2018 today morning under the chairmanship of R.K.Saxena, Director, WMO. As reported earlier DoT has formed three working groups under the chairmanship of V.J. Christopher, R.K. Saxena, and Sukhpal Singh. Working Group 1 is for frequency bands upto 1 GHz, Working Group 2 is for frequency bands 1 GHz to 6 GHz, and Working Group 3 is for frequency bands beyond 6 GHz.
