The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) today issued demand note to Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio for the spectrum acquired through Spectrum Auction 2021. The successful bidders now have 10 days time period to pay up the demand note by 18th March 2021.
Bharti Airtel had won the right to use spectrum for spectrum holdings worth Rs 187,03,35,99,329 excluding GST payable to DoT. Airtel can opt for the deferred payment option and pay Rs 63,23,98,58,886 towards immediate upfront payment and Rs 6,63,45,65,799 upfront payment for the frequencies available at a later date.
Reliance Jio had won the right to use spectrum for spectrum holdings worth Rs 57,124,06,01,113 payable to DoT. Jio can opt for the deferred payment option and pay Rs 15,019,84,06,223 towards immediate upfront payment and Rs 4,919,37,69,334 upfront payment for the frequencies available at later dates.
Vodafone Idea had won the right to use spectrum for spectrum holdings worth Rs 1993,40,00,000 payable to DoT. VIL can opt for deferred payment option and pay Rs 574,65,00,000 towards immediate upfront payment and Rs 103,50,00,000 as upfront payment for frequencies available at later dates.
The first installment of the balance amount will be due on the third anniversary of the scheduled date of the first payment with subsequent installments becoming due on the same date of each following year.
