New set of MSC codes to Reliance Jio for Maharashtra LSA to meet the demand of one million customers.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) today allocated MSC codes for mobile services to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited. The allotment came into consideration at the request of the telecom service provider.
The Telecom Department has conveyed the allotment of ACCESS-MSC code 92700-92709 to Reliance Jio. The allocated MSC code for Maharashtra LSA will help the telco meet the demand of one million subscribers in the telecom service area.
The allocated MSC code series can be used by the telecom operator except for the ported-out subscribers (if any) of Tata Teleservices Limited.
The telco had recently also received the allotment of MSC codes to meet the demand of one million subscribers in UP East LSA. In April 2022, it received MSC codes to meet the demand of one million subscribers in Bihar LSA.
In other news, DoT recently allocated level ‘14666’ to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to facilitate payment services to feature phone users.
