Bob Chapek, the CEO of The Walt Disney Company had announced previously that they will celebrate Disney+ Day every year on November 12 commemorating the Disney+ launch anniversary. In India, non-subscribers will get access to 100 hours of premium content across genres and fans can expect a heap of announcements globally from Disney and its many subsidiaries around the world. In India, Disney+ Hotstar has announced Disney+ Day premieres of the much-awaited limited series from the Special OPS universe, Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story along with the platform’s first Malayalam Feature Kanakam Kamini Kalaham starring Nivin Pauly.
Joining them on Disney+ Day will be Disney’s Jungle Cruise starring Dwayne “The Rock Johnson” and Emily Blunt, Pixar’s original short Ciao Alberto featuring the characters from the recent blockbuster Luca, Marvel Studios’ recent blockbuster Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings, a special documentary feature on Boba-Fett from Star Wars, the premiere of the long-awaited returning season of National Geographic’s The World According to Jeff Goldblum, and numerous shorts from Disney and Pixar. Rounding off the Disney+ Day’s line-up are Hulu’s drama miniseries Dopesick starring Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard, Will Poulter, Kaitlyn Dever and Rosario Dawson in the lead roles and an Argentinan Spanish Disney+ Original comedy-drama series Entrelazados.
On the television side, the streamer has locked the two-episode premiere of the next Marvel Studios’ Disney+ original series Hawkeye on November 24. A three-episode documentary series by Peter Jackson on music band The Beatles, The Beatles: Get Back is scheduled to premiere on November 25. Rounding off the list is Marvel’s adult-animated superhero series Hit-Monkey on November 17.
On the film side, the streamer has lined-up MGR Magan as the next Tamil feature to directly premiere on the platform on November 4 coinciding with Diwali. On the same day, the streamer will also premiere Telugu action comedy Gully Rowdy after its disastrous theatrical release. On the sports front, the streamer will show the fixtures from ICC T20 World Cup India 2021, New Zealand tour of India 2021, F1 Grand Prix, English Premier League, Netherlands tour of South Africa 2021, BWF World Tour fixtures, selected National Football League games, and FIH Pro League among others.
