That's the problem with fans. They weigh captaincy by number of trophies. Yes, trophies are important but not more than building a team. In between Ganguly and Kohli, the players and fans NEVER expected (believed) to win overseas test matches/series.
Again you misunderstood
Both dada and kohli failed to get trophy
But the way indian missing trohy hurting
In case of dada 2003 anyone age of understanding that wc surely knew australia was invincible if we won that was miracle if u say why not dada chise batting after won the toss hope u not forget the score indian team scored when bated 1st in group stage when idia and australia made dada just not want to make same mistake reapt hence chose safe thing bat 2nd

For virat wtc final indian team that time was in peak but wrong selection decision and panic in big ocation create mess

I think since 1995 to 2009-10 (or later) India never chased successfully against mighty Aussies. All the very few ODI wins came batting first only (including Sharjah 1998 tri-series final). It was horribly a wrong decision to ask Australia bat in big Finals. The only way India could win against that invincible team was by batting first.

I am talking this match

About 20 years ago , Headingley 2002 test is the biggest example of it . On a green top , Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to bat first and the rest is history

Personally I feel that Indian cricketers of present have no patience required for test matches and in majority of the cases do not have technique required to play against good bowling in testing conditions. If I have to pick out of the current lot except Kohli,Pujara and to an extent Rahane other players neither have patience and technique required for test cricket.Someone like Shubhman Gill who brings his bat down like a sword ready to cut apple has to improve a lot to bat in testing conditions. It is such a shame that players for Test matches are picked based on T-20 cricket.
