I simply cannot understand stocks. Vodafone-Idea posts biggest loss in India inc. history and the stock is up around 7% (till now). Airtel is up around 6%. I was predicting Vodafone-Idea's stock to be reduced to a penny stock yesterday. Guess, there is something that the company and investers only know that we don't.

Now Investors were realized as old agr due and current spectrum due was recognized in latest financials. Till now they are not provisioned due to banks and ratings.

What ever we say it's entirely their fault. They hidden the revenues, escaped from paying tax etc. Now crying. No matter what relief our government gives vodafone will surely exit. Instead of merging they should have sold their companies straight away.

And i dont think BSNL will survive once VRS is given to the employees government will close it.

First don't pay the dues and then cry for relief. How come they didn't even put reserve for basic spectrum fees and revenue share, dispute was over non telecom earnings but they stopped paying altogether and now they are being asked to pay all.

Airtel and Vodafone have heavily invested in Other (Africa) countries from Indian earnings with high tariff during 2006-2016.

About VF, you are right about investment in Africa but there is no direct correlation between India earnings and investment in Africa. VF has traditionally done very well in Europe and earnings from Europe has led to VF expanding in other regions.

For Airtel, certianly expanded to Africa from Indian Earnings. But VF may expanded to Africa after experience in India.

The problem here was noone had predicted that Jio will have so much impact on indian telecom industry. It led to huge losses which no-one had estimated. Add to that spectrum is extremely costly in India. This has led to failures in payments.

Indian govt is partially responsible for the mess VF and airtel are in as they allowed Jio to offer free sim, calls and data.
