West Bromwich Albion's Borja Valero has moved to Villarreal on a permanent deal after spending last season on loan.
Spanish midfielder Valero, 26, became the Baggies' record signing when he joined from Real Mallorca for £4.7m in 2008 but he failed to settle at the Hawthorns and returned to Mallorca on a season-long loan a year later.
The former Real Madrid youngster, capped once by Spain, then signed for Villarreal on a similar loan deal for the 2010/11 season with the view to making the move permanent in the summer.
His 35 league matches and three goals suitably impressed the Villarreal hierarchy and Valero has now completed a deal for an undisclosed fee.
Meanwhile the Baggies have withdrawn teenage midfielder George Thorne from the England Under-20s' World Cup squad after he was included in manager Roy Hodgson's pre-season plans.
The 18-year-old, who made his Barclays Premier League debut as a substitute in the 3-3 final day draw at Newcastle United last season, was included in the party for the tournament in Colombia, preparations for which begin on 14th July.
However, he will now travel with the rest of Hodgson's first-team squad to their training camp in the United States between 10th July and 23rd.
A statement on the club's official website: "Albion have regrettably withdrawn George Thorne from the England squad for the Under-20s World Cup in Colombia after he was included in Roy Hodgson's first-team pre-season plans."
Gonzalo Jara will miss the trip to America after he was included in Chile's final 23-man squad for the Copa America in Argentina.
